Is it Worth Renting a Mini Storage Unit in Hong Kong? Live Interviews

In Hong Kong, space is a luxury. It is a fact of life here. You close your eyes and your winter clothes will be competing with your suitcase to get space. It is a small storage unit to rent in Hong Kong, so it feels like a simple solution, but is it effective or it is yet another bill to pay at the end of the month? more info about this page!

One of my friends tried it when he had moved to a flat with 300 square feet in Quarry Bay. The first week he said was magic. Boxes were cleared, the apartment was cleaner and he was even able to see his floor. However, in a few months, he confessed something interesting that he rarely visited the unit. It was more of a graveyard of stuff than a storage.

It appears that is a popular trend. Individuals rent them when they are changing their life circumstances; moving, renovating, downsizing. Initially, it addresses a real-life issue. Then it becomes their long-term storage of what they actually do not need, yet are not ready to dispose of as well.

Nevertheless, not all of them regret it.

One of the freelancers whom I interviewed keeps a mini storage facility where he keeps camera equipment and props. In her case, this means not necessarily having additional space at home but being able to take work out of personal life. She considers the unit as an extension of her office. That does indeed make sense in a place where you can work at home and work at the same time be in bed.

Opinions divide where cost is concerned.

In Hong Kong mini storage is not cheap. According to some users, the price is justified due to convenience and security. There are those who feel that the monthly charge is right on your nose. One of the guys laughed at the fact that his old textbooks are even staying in a more expensive apartment than he does.

Place is more than people realize. Units that are near MTR stations or residential places are more likely to be used. When it becomes too hard to go, you are likely to give up on it. Then you are paying to be in space that you do not interact with.

Cleanliness and security tend to get positive feedback. Majority of the facilities are in good condition, and they have CCTV and entry control. That section hardly fails. The larger issue is, is the stuff you keep in your storage worth the expense?

And there is the slight psychological impact. According to some of the users, a storage unit helps them to be less stressed as their home does not seem cluttered. It is said by others to postpone the decision. They do not go through the things and simply displace the issue.

It can be literally useful when you are the type of person who changes things, seasonal clothes, athletic equipment, company stock. When you are putting money away with the idea of having it in case of need, it could become a silent leakage.

One user put it in a very pretty honest manner; it is worth it when one is using it and when one is not using it then it is not worth it.

That is a memorable line.
